MOURNING BELOVETH Announces New Bassist
February 1, 2007Irish doom titans MOURNING BELOVETH have announced the addition of bassist Brendan Roche to the group's ranks. "[Brendan] will bring fresh ears and a Wexford wit to the doomed proceedings of writing a new album," the group writes on its web site.
In other news, "we now have three [new] songs written and another three in the pipeline" [for the upcoming MOURNING BELOVETH album, the band writes. "The songs are sounding VERY HEAVY and it should be interesting to hear how they develop over the coming months. We are aiming for an October recording session in Studio E again, three years after the recording of 'A Murderous Circus' [2005].
"In other news, Grau has re-released 'Dust' [2001] and 'The Sullen Sulcus' [2002]. Nothing new except the artwork. The albums were supposed to go on sale at mid-price but that hasn't happened and we are disappointed but.....
"We had some great experiences playing at Brutal Assault in Czech Republic and Party.San in Germany ([former bassist] Adrian [Butler]'s last gig) over the summer and our gig in the Voodoo in Dublin was a major success, despite our sloppy performance that night. It was also the first time we had some serious stage diving during one of our gigs and it made for a memorable night, and some broken pedals."
